“Ms Roxon said she would be “concerned” if gay and lesbians voted against Labor over their ban on gay marriage.

Equal rights network spokesman Rodney Croome said he had never known there to be so much anger among gay and lesbian voters on any issue.
“There will inevitably be a protest vote against Labor,” he said. “Labor’s betrayal has stuck in people’s minds.”” (news.com.au)
Certainly sticks in mine. It’s extremely disappointing that they let themselves be distracted by a homophobic fundamentalist Christians but sadly it’s just the kind of behaviour I’d expect from the 51st state of the USA. I’ve lost all faith in the Labor Party under Latham.
Oh, and my email’s stuffed, if you’ve been trying to email me. Grrr.

who are we meant to vote for? democrats? greens? independents? would be great to give labour a bit of a shock over that whole gay issue that they were so spineless over.

Shush, ernestito, or I’ll send you mail asking how your haemorrhoids are and you’ll be inundated with ads for piles creams.
I think I’m going to vote Democrat or Greens, and I’m going to write to the Labor Party (again!) and tell them why I’m not voting for them.

Wow, Mia babe, you spelt haemorrhoids correctly. Respect. I guess there’s no twist in your sobriety.

labour must be very concerned, they have a professional auto reply to all the people like me whinging about their pathetic need to protect all their homophobic voters.
    not concerned enough though.

At least they responded, they didn’t when I wrote to them when the change to the marriage act was first in the news a few months ago.
