The way they've described 'Shirl' seems odd to me, but then I only vaguely remember him from Shirl's Neighbourhood. It just goes to show that musicians of any sort just shouldn't be allowed to fly in anything smaller than a 747.

Apparently all I need now is a een Vergunning tot verblijf. Unfortunately, I can't get one til the residency permit is sorted out (ok, that's another thing I need), which is now taking up to three months. So possibly no phone line (thus, net access at home) for another month.

Who would believe I'd be going to coffeeshops with internet access just to enter my footy tips? Bought Thai dope just for the hell of it. After the place we were staying in in Ko Phangnan was raided by the Thai police, it just feels like justice to buy Thai dope. Off to London tomorrow.

another weekend gone by... moved into the new house, ace view over the canal and all the people who don't get to live there (ha!), new stamp in the passport, courtesy the Register Amsterdam, but not much else is new.

one of the German girls who's staying at the same b&b was in raptures about 'Mutant Messages Down Under', that crap book by an American chick who spent a few days in Sydney before claiming to have spent months in the desert with an Aboriginal tribe. Of course, all the new-age crap they supposedly shared with her sounded a lot more like American Indian stuff, but who cares, it sold a bomb.
